The central Oregon coast offers a variety of activities for travelers: golf courses, miles of uncrowded public beaches, fishing charters and guides, shopping, historical sites, museums, unique dining, shellfish harvesting, hang gliding, surfing, kayaking, public parks and way-sides, campgrounds, hiking trails, bike trails, covered bridges and magnificent lighthouses.
A sampling of local events include music and art festivals, holiday boat parades, family fun at community parades, kite festivals, boat races, flower and plant shows, Fourth of July fireworks displays, seafood festivals . . . even a scrumptious smelt fry.
